Monday 5th August 2025, Minister Tayali Unveils Logistics Reforms to Boost Agricultural Exports

Transport and Logistics Minister Frank Tayali has announced new measures aimed at improving Zambia’s agricultural trade and export capacity. Speaking on Farmers’ Day, he highlighted the development of cargo handling and cold chain facilities at provincial airports to support the export of perishable goods. Tayali also emphasized the revitalisation of major transport corridors to speed up and reduce the cost of moving agricultural inputs and products. He encouraged farmers to adopt climate-smart practices and view their produce as export-ready commodities, reaffirming the government’s commitment to working with private and international partners to develop world-class logistics infrastructure.

Minister Frank Tayali says Zambia is preparing for the 2026 ICAO aviation security audit. He told US Ambassador Michael Gonzales that private firms have proposed airport security solutions under review. Gonzales reaffirmed US support and called for stronger transport and trade collaboration.

Tayali Inspects Mansa Airport Upgrade Mansa, Luapula Province — Sunday, July 27, 2025.
