The Aviation Sector Support Programme II (ASSPII), financed under the 11th European Development Fund (EDF), is a follow-up project to the ASSP I project and the subsequent ASSP bridging project, which were implemented under the 10th EDF programme.
The programme has two components namely; Component One which is support to the Civil Aviation Authority through EASA which commenced in 2017 and ending in September, 2023. Component Two is Technical Assistance (TA) support towards strengthening capacities of the aviation industry stakeholders. Component Two commenced in January 2021 and is ending in December, 2023.

The results to be achieved include:
Expected Result 1: Improved policies, institutional and regulatory framework of the aviation sector, including air safety and security, and gender sensitivity.
Expected Result 2: Enhanced capacity of airport and air-traffic management institutions, in accordance with international standards.
Expected Result 3: Aviation safety and security oversight system strengthened.
