The Government of the Republic of Zambia and Rom Transport Engineering have signed a contract for the latter to provide consultancy services of undertaking Mid Term Review and update on the National Transport Policy.

The signing ceremony took place in the Ministry of Transport and Logistics main Boardroom on Tuesday 26th May, 2026.

Speaking before signing the contract, Ministry of Transport and Logistics Permanent Secretary Eng. Fredrick Mwalusaka said Government will take the lead in the adoption of electric vehicle technology in the country.

          Eng. Mwalusaka said there is need to incorporate electric vehicles in the National Transport Policy. And Rom Transport Engineering is expected to finish consultancy works in eight months. And Rom Transport Engineering Managing Director Moshe Hirsh said the firm will employ latest technology when collecting data. Dr Hirsh pledged to deliver the final document within the stipulated period.
